Ender's Games Question #4

Q. What is the climax of this novel? What happens? How do the events of this novel make you feel?

Answ.

The climax of this story is when Ender is asked to go to “Battle School” to train to win the war against the “Buggers.” Unlike all the other books or novel that have read when the climax has always been in the muddle or end of the book, but with this one, it is with in the first three chapters. Once Ender gets into the car with Colonel Graff, there is no going back and Graff told him that before Ender agreed to leave with him. A person from I.F. comes to the Wiggins house and they talk to the parents about Ender. Ender is asked into the living room with the I.F. Officer and his parents and they start of by taking about what happened at school with a kid named Stilson. After that, they were talking about Ender going to Battle School to train and become a leader so to speak. The Officer asked Ender’s parents to leave so that Graff could talk to Ender alone about his decision. Graff asks Ender if he would come to Battle School to train and all that for the war or would he just like to stay there on Earth with his family and be known as the “Third” all his life and be made fun of at school for being so. Graff says that he has from the time that he (Graff) gets into the car to make his decision. Ender decides right there that he wants to go because apparently he is needed. They tell that family and then Ender leaves for Battle School. The events of this novel rather make me mad because the kid is so young and he does not get to enjoy his child hood because he will be up there training and fight “Buggers.” These events also make me feel I do not really know, but its rather cool to be able to get to train for a war and soon become a Commander of ships and fight a war while you just thought you were training on a simulator. I think it would be cool to be able to do this, but suck because you do not get to have a childhood because you are train and since you know so much about all the stuff up there in space you do not ever get to go home so you become governor of one of the Bugger colonies.
