Ender's Game Question #7

Q. Are there any settings in this novel which you have found to be beautiful? or disturbing? or memorable? Describe those settings and comment on why they were meaningful to you.

Answ.

Yes, there is one setting in particular and if you have not read the book then you are not going to know exactly what it is I am talking about. When Ender gets his leave on is way actually to the Command school they stop back at his hometown and he stays in a mansion for three months before Colonel Graff ever does anything. There are trees everywhere and there is a beautiful lake just so quiet and calm. There is no one else around for miles, so you are all alone. Ender would take his raft that he made and go out to the middle of the lake and sit and think. He would also go in and swim for a while. This place is so meaningful to me because it reminds me of going on vacation to Hawaii which I am doing for Spring Break, but it is just so beautiful in Hawaii and this setting in the book seems so pleasant and beautiful. It lets you get away from everything like for instance school for me and for Ender I guess it would be getting away from Battle School. These two places are just a time to relax and get everything out of your head. The raft that Ender built was mainly for it reminded him of null gravity. It was as if he was floating around in the Battle Room again. Although Ender hated Battle School, he hated Earth more because he has been in space for over five or six years, but he still wanted to see his family after the war was over, his sister saw and did not let him go. Valentine knew that their brother Peter would use Ender to help take over the world because Peter knew that Ender could be controlled. As Demosthenes Valentine made it so Ender could not leave to go back to Earth.
